Edgemont is Going Plastic Bag Free

Get those reusable bags ready! The majority of Edgemont businesses have made the pledge to go plastic bag free as of March 1 and although we do not provide plastic bags of our own (that would be odd), as active patrons of many Edgemont retailers we are pumped to be a supporting business of this important initiative.

If you’re interested in learning more about the Ocean Ambassadors organization take a peek at the below launch event taking place February 21.

Plastic Bag Free Launch Event

We are calling all our Ocean Ambassadors and families to join us at the Plastic Bag Free Launch Event  on Friday February 21st in Edgemont Village.

Ocean Ambassadors Canada and dedicated volunteers have been working with businesses in Edgemont Village to phase out single use plastic bags. We have over 80 businesses banning bags and supporting the initiative and now it's time to celebrate all the hard work! Please join us to celebrate the participating businesses and bring the North Vancouver community together around building a sustainable future.

You can look forward to:

  • Documentary short screenings

  • Wine and hors d'oeuvres

  • Guest speakers; Megan Curren (District of North Vancouver) and Tanya Otero (Ocean Wise Expert)

  • Q&A and discussion with plastic and waste specialists

  • Activities for kids
